Introducing InneReam®,
The Latest Innovation in Trenchless Pipe Replacement.
Patented (US Patent No. 5580188), Canadian Patent No. 2,226,979, Mexican Patent No. 206,469, European Union Patent No. 96925381.4 ( AUT, BEL, CHE/LIE, DEU, DNK, ESP, FIN, FRA, GRC, IRL, ITA, LUX, MCO, NLD, PRT, SWE, UK) by Nowak Pipe Reaming Inc., the system was developed to utilize a directional drilling unit, specialized tooling and techniques to grind and remove the existing pipe as the replacement is pulled into place.
The InneReam® System provides economic relief and political peace by:
- Reducing costs for surface restoration
- Minimizing negative public reaction to projects
- Reducing safety hazards involved with deep trenches
- Eliminating critical utility outages common with open cut methods
- Places no undue stress on nearby fragile structures or paving during the installation process.

The system provides for the removal of existing VCP, PVC, AC*, Reinforced (Class II and III) or Non Reinforced Concrete Pipe, and the simultaneous replacement with an HDPE , PVC, or Restrained Joint Ductile Iron pipe of equal or larger diameter, double diameter replacement being the practical maximum upsize.
* Consult with EPA officials (local, state and fed) before reaming AC pipe.
Removal of the in-place pipe is accomplished by "back reaming" using a Horizontal Directional Drill with a back reamer that reduces the existing pipe to small pieces which are carried along with other excess particles by the drilling fluid to an extraction point.

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), restrained joint PVC, fusible PVC and restrained joint ductile iron pipe provide adequate selection that will satisfy practically performance and installation requirements.
Equipment requirements for the InneReam® System are generally more agreeable to the primary utility contractor than those of other systems. Although a large percentage of utility contractors may not own a directional drill, its incorporation into the equipment fleet provides the contractor with not only the ability to enter the trenchless market with the InneReam® System, but also to enter new markets using the same equipment as an additional profit center.
A modified backreaming tool is the only special tool required for the system which may be shop or manufacturer modified. Whether or not the prospective user owns a directional drill, the initial investment can be readily amortized.
Unlike most licensing agreements, the InneReam® license is tailored for contractors to present no burdensome financial demands. Reputable contractors may license, non-exclusively, on a pay as paid basis without the large up-front payments common to the industry.
